The rules of the runway — what you agree to when using the EdAero aviation marketplace.
Effective Date: April 29, 2026Version 1.0
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the EdAero platform at crews.eadaero.com — whether as an aviation operator, a freelance aviation professional, or a visitor — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and EdAero. Please read them carefully before creating an account or engaging in any transaction on the Platform.
About EdAero
EdAero is an online marketplace that connects aviation operators (airlines, charter companies, flight schools, corporate aviation departments, and other aviation businesses) with qualified freelance aviation professionals, including but not limited to:
Commercial pilots (ATPL, CPL) and flight instructors (CFI, FI)
Co-pilots, first officers, and second-in-command crew
Aircraft maintenance engineers and avionics technicians
Flight dispatchers and operations officers
Cabin crew and ground handling specialists
Other licensed or certified aviation personnel
✈ EdAero is a marketplace intermediary. We facilitate connections between operators and freelancers but are not a party to employment or service contracts between them, and are not an aviation employer.
Eligibility
To use EdAero, you must:
Be at least 18 years of age
Have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements in your jurisdiction
Not be prohibited from using the Platform under applicable law
Freelance Professionals must hold all required licences, ratings, certificates, and medical clearances required by relevant aviation authorities (e.g., EASA, FAA, CAAC) for the roles they offer on the Platform. Misrepresentation of qualifications is a serious breach of these Terms and may be reported to regulatory authorities.
Operators must be duly incorporated or registered entities (or authorised representatives thereof) operating within a legal aviation framework. Operators are responsible for ensuring that any engagement with freelancers complies with applicable labour, aviation, and safety regulations.
User Accounts
You must create an account to access most features of the Platform. When creating your account, you agree to:
Provide accurate, complete, and current information
Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials
Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
Not share your account with or transfer it to another party
You are responsible for keeping your profile, credentials, and availability up to date. EdAero reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts with inaccurate or misleading information.
Operator Obligations
As an operator using EdAero to source aviation professionals, you agree to:
Post job listings that are accurate, lawful, and represent genuine opportunities
Comply with all applicable labour law, aviation regulations, and working time directives when engaging freelancers
Verify that freelancers hold valid licences and medical certificates before assigning flight duties
Pay freelancers the agreed remuneration in full and on time
Maintain adequate insurance covering freelance crew engaged through the Platform
Treat all applicants fairly and without discrimination based on protected characteristics
Not use the Platform to solicit freelancers for off-platform engagements to circumvent fees
⚠ Operators remain solely responsible for operational safety. EdAero does not certify the fitness of any freelancer for a specific operation. The Pilot-in-Command and the operator's safety management system bear all statutory safety responsibilities.
Freelancer Obligations
As a freelance aviation professional listed on EdAero, you agree to:
Only list qualifications, ratings, and experience that are current, valid, and accurately described
Maintain and keep current all required licences, medical certificates, and ratings
Disclose any restrictions, suspensions, or investigations affecting your licence
Honour accepted bookings and provide the professional services agreed
Comply with all applicable civil aviation authority regulations during engagements
Maintain professional liability insurance appropriate to your role
Not solicit operators encountered through the Platform for direct (off-platform) engagements
Bookings & Payments
How Bookings Work
Operators can post mission requirements or browse freelancer profiles and initiate booking requests. A booking is confirmed when both parties accept the terms and payment is processed through the Platform.
✈ For Operators
Payment is collected at booking confirmation
Funds are held in escrow until mission completion
Service fees apply per transaction
🧑✈️ For Freelancers
Earnings released after operator confirmation
Platform commission deducted automatically
Payouts via bank transfer or supported method
Platform Fees
EdAero charges a service fee on transactions completed through the Platform. The applicable fee schedule is displayed during the booking process and may be updated with reasonable notice. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law or our Cancellation Policy.
Independent Contractor Status
Freelancers engaged through EdAero are independent contractors, not employees of EdAero or the operator (unless a separate employment agreement exists outside the Platform). EdAero does not withhold taxes on behalf of freelancers. Each party is responsible for their own tax compliance.
Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellation terms depend on how far in advance the booking is cancelled:
72+ hours before the mission: Full refund of the operator's payment, minus the EdAero service fee.
24–72 hours before the mission: 50% refund to the operator; 50% paid to the freelancer as a cancellation fee.
Less than 24 hours: No refund; full payment released to the freelancer.
Freelancer cancellation: Freelancers who cancel accepted bookings without a valid reason (illness, aircraft-on-ground event, force majeure) may be subject to a penalty and removal from the Platform.
Force majeure events (severe weather, NOTAM-based restrictions, airspace closures, medical incapacitation) may qualify for alternative cancellation treatment. Contact support with documentation.
Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to use the Platform to:
Post false, misleading, or fraudulent job listings or profiles
Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your credentials
Engage in harassment, discrimination, or abusive conduct toward other users
Solicit or accept payment outside the Platform to avoid service fees ("fee circumvention")
Upload malware, conduct phishing attacks, or otherwise compromise Platform security
Scrape, copy, or reproduce Platform content without permission
Violate any applicable aviation regulation, labour law, or legal obligation
Use automated tools or bots to access or interact with the Platform
Engage in money laundering or any illegal financial activity
Violations may result in immediate account suspension, termination, and referral to relevant authorities.
Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform — including the EdAero name, logo, design, software, and original text — is the intellectual property of EdAero or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other IP laws.
By uploading content to the Platform (profiles, documents, photos), you grant EdAero a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and use that content solely for the purpose of operating the Platform.
You retain ownership of your own content. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from EdAero's platform content without express written permission.

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. EdAero makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding:
The accuracy or completeness of freelancer profiles or credentials
The fitness of any freelancer for a specific aviation role or operation
The quality, safety, or outcome of any engagement made through the Platform
Uninterrupted, error-free access to the Platform at all times
⚠ Aviation safety is a shared and non-delegable responsibility. EdAero does not hold an Air Operator Certificate (AOC), approve crew, or supervise flight operations. Operators must conduct their own crew competency verification in accordance with applicable regulations.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, EdAero's total liability to you arising from or related to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total fees paid by you to EdAero in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) EUR 500.
EdAero shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of revenue, loss of data, personal injury, or property damage arising from your use of the Platform or any engagement facilitated through it.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless EdAero and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
Your use of or inability to use the Platform
Your breach of these Terms
Any misrepresentation of your qualifications or credentials
Any dispute between you and another user arising from a Platform engagement
Your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights
Termination
Either party may terminate the account relationship at any time. You may close your account through your account settings or by contacting support.
EdAero reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account, with or without notice, if you:
Breach these Terms or our policies
Engage in fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity
Pose a risk to the safety of other users or Platform integrity
Receive sustained negative reviews indicating a pattern of unprofessional conduct
Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive (disclaimers, IP rights, limitation of liability, governing law) shall remain in effect.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. For users based in the European Union, consumer protection rights under EU law are not affected by these Terms.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to mediation. Failing mediation, disputes shall be resolved by the competent courts of the jurisdiction in which EdAero is registered.
You may also have access to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr for cross-border disputes.
Changes to These Terms
EdAero may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. We will provide at least 14 days' notice of material changes via email or a prominent Platform notice.
Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you disagree with any changes, you must stop using the Platform and close your account before the effective date.
