Who We Are
EdAero ("we," "us," or "our") operates the aviation freelancer marketplace available at crews.eadaero.com. We connect aviation operators with qualified freelance aviation professionals — including commercial pilots, flight instructors, dispatchers, maintenance engineers, and other licensed or certified aviation personnel.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information collected through our platform, website, and related services (collectively, "the Platform").
Data We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Platform, and information from third parties where applicable.
Account & Profile Information
Full name, email address, phone number, and password
Professional credentials: license numbers, ratings, certificates (ATPL, CPL, PPL, type ratings, etc.)
Total flight hours, aircraft types, specializations, and professional history
Profile photo and any documents you upload (CVs, certificates, medical certificates)
Company name, fleet details, and operational base (for operators)
Transaction & Usage Data
Job postings, applications, booking history, and messaging records
Reviews, ratings, and feedback submitted on the Platform
Payment information processed through our third-party payment provider
Device identifiers, IP address, browser type, and access logs

How We Use Your Data
We use your information to operate and improve the Platform, including:
Creating and managing your account and professional profile
Matching operators with suitable freelance aviation professionals
Processing job applications, bookings, and related communications
Verifying credentials and conducting identity checks where required
Processing payments and issuing invoices
Sending transactional emails, booking confirmations, and service updates
Improving Platform features through analytics and user feedback
Complying with aviation regulatory requirements and legal obligations
Detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access
Sharing Your Data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in the following circumstances:
Between Users: Freelancer profile information (name, credentials, ratings, availability) is visible to operators on the Platform. Operator details are shared with freelancers they engage.
Service Providers: Trusted third parties that support our operations (cloud hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics) under strict data processing agreements.
Regulatory Authorities: Where required by aviation regulations, employment law, or legal orders (e.g., EASA, FAA, national civil aviation authorities).
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale, user data may transfer to the acquiring entity under the same privacy protections.
With Your Consent: For any other purpose, only with your explicit consent.
Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Platform is used. Types of cookies we use:

Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide services. Specifically:
Account data is retained for the duration of your account plus 3 years after deletion, to comply with legal and tax obligations.
Transaction records (bookings, payments, contracts) are retained for 7 years in accordance with applicable financial regulations.
Aviation credential records may be retained longer if required by civil aviation authority regulations.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, subject to legal retention obligations.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

Children's Privacy
EdAero is a professional platform intended exclusively for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has submitted data through our Platform, please contact us immediately so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify registered users via email and display a notice on the Platform. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.
Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
